Happenings
Our walking tours are also
great way to take in some Vitamin D while learning about
our history and hippness. For the history minded, 11am
every Sunday in front of Katz's Deli on Ludlow and
Houston St. Led by our good friend Judi, this tour is
hard to beat, especially since its free!
For the arts minded take to the streets for the next
Every Last Sunday on the LES tour. ELS on the LES takes
you on an intimate tour of galleries and studios of
various community artists.
Enjoy last month's free
music and art affair at China House? No need to fret,
we're still rocking the casbah as the LESBID continues
to cosponsor local artists at 20 Clinton Street.
Our first collaboration, The Creative Chronicles of the
Lower East Side, was a big success, despite the wet
snow. Let there be art and music on the LES! |

Mall in conjuction with the LES Girls club. Between

Established in 1992, the Lower
East Side Business Improvement District (LESBID) is a
non-profit economic development organization created to
revitalize the Orchard Street Shopping District while
preserving its unique and diverse character. Today, the
LESBID is a community of over 400 merchants and property
owners managed by a Board of Directors and consisting of
local merchants, property owners, residents and elected
officials. The LESBID promotes the local businesses, hosts
events and provides community beautification services
including sanitation, security, and graffiti removal. |
