The
movie made it famous, but the character made it real.
If
you haven’t been on Orchard below Delancey, you should
seriously, seriously be ashamed of yourself. You don't know what
you're missing - like some of our classics or our LES newbies.
We’re talking about our favorite eco-friendly shop,
Kaight, our vintage-wares at
Tahir, transformative, forward-thinking hats from
The Still Life,
hand-woven craftswomanship at
Egglplant, glimmery goods from Pippin all intermingled with classic
LES shopping experiences (and bargains) at
Howard's Sportswear, A.W. Kaufman's and Majestic Hoisiery.
Not only is this block anchored by home furnishing-ville south
(at Grand), it also boasts Amazing Asian delights. From the owner of
Chelsea's Regional Thai Restaurant comes Sticky Rice (85
Orchard)– a tasty, affordable new dining selection to warm your
belly. Cross the street and we’ve got Outlet Koca Lounge (76
Orchard), where you can have an intimate and delicious shabu- shabu
experience while Jin Sushi and
Little Giant serve up specials. Not to mention: it's got
Guss'. 'nuf said.
Meanwhile, climbing the Upper portion of our Orchard,
you'll branch out to find lots of diamonds in the rough. Like what,
you ask? how about New Yorker's favorite Zucco's Le French Diner,
Kropps and Bobbers hair salon,
Johnson and Bblessing's boutiques, Doyle and Doyle jewelers,
Bonnie's unique finds, Core
One Nine One's awesome new space, and, Rosario's unparalleled slice.
(Ok, breathe. We've got more.)
