On Wednesday, September 5th, 2012 the Lower East Side Business Improvement District (LES BID) hosted the first ever Lower East Side Opening Night: Art + Fashion, a celebration of opening receptions for many of the 80+ art galleries that now dot the LES landscape. Opening Night also included several in-store events with live music and entertainment, at a number of the retail fashion and accessory boutiques that line the neighborhood. The LES BID developed this free, neighborhood-wide event as a pre-Fashion Week kick-off, in conjunction with the opening to fall art season, which took place from 6-9 pm throughout New York’s Lower East Side.
