Fall has arrived on the Lower East Side and foliage colors are taking over the neighborhood. Stop by the numerous cafes on Orchard Street to get a hot tea, coffee, or apple cider and enjoy the crisp autumn weather.  Take a leisurely stroll up Orchard Street to review our restaurants' fall menus, or treat yourself to a new leather jacket from the outerwear stores north of Delancey Street, like Daniel’s Leather. While visiting the area don’t forget that the LES BID offers 3 hours of free parking at the Broome Street parking lot (between Suffolk and Norfolk St) with a validation sticker, which you can obtain from the BID office on 54 Orchard St.

WISH YOU WERE HERE SWAP WITH LONDON

A group of independent Lower East Side boutiques have just come back from London, fresh from the success of the Wish You Were Here Initiative. Thirty independent boutiques swapped goods between the Lower East Side and the Newburgh Quarter in London, England. Some of the LES's finest, including By Robert James, Wendy Mink Jewelry, Still Life, Earnest Sewn and Hairy Mary’s Vintage and Design, were represented in our London pop-up shop. The Swap promoted independent and cutting edge designers, a growing trademark in the Lower East Side community and the Newburgh Quarter.
