Storefront Improvement Grant

The Storefront Improvement Grant Program provides a matching grant of up to 50% of your total project cost, with no grant greater than $350. Grants will be awarded on a competitive basis by a committee of the BID's Board of Directors. Special consideration will be granted to projects that enhance the historic character of the neighborhood.

Grants are awarded to merchants and property owners undertaking the following projects:

Replacing or repairing awnings or store signs
Replacing roll-down gates with the slatted (see-through) variety
Replacing or repairing storefronts
Steamcleaning entire building facades
Restoring decorative features such as window surrounds, lintels and cornices

Grants are provided on a reimbursement basis by submitting a dated receipt marked paid in full, and a canceled check. No grants will be awarded unless a completed application has been approved by our committee. Applications must apply for the grant prior to making improvements.
