Lower East Side Launches “Third Thursdays” Gallery Night
New York, NY (February 7, 2011)….The Lower East Side Business Improvement District (LES BID) announces Third Thursdays, a new art gallery night on the Lower East Side. Thirty Lower East Side art galleries will stay open late from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on seven Thursdays throughout 2011. The dates for Third Thursdays are March 17, April 21, May 19, June 16, July 21, September 15, and October 20.
Third Thursdays were created to highlight the large number of galleries that have been opened in the Lower East Side.
Additionally, some galleries will be holding openings and special events on Thursdays. For updated information regarding details of specific Third Thursdays, visit www.lowereastsideny.com.
Third Thursdays coincides with the New Museum’s free Thursday nights from 7 – 9 p.m. The Lower East Side Business Improvement District will be distributing LES Art Gallery Guides on March 17 as part of Third Thursdays. Gallery Guides can also be picked up at the Lower East Side Visitor Center at 54 Orchard Street.
